Cory has experience representing clients in various litigation settings. Cory's legal career began as a Texas Supreme Court judicial clerk to the Honorable Phil Johnson and the Honorable J. Brett Busby. After his clerkship, Cory represented several state agencies, officials, and universities in employment litigation in both state and federal courts, at both the trial and appellate levels. Cory also represented clients in civil rights litigation, election lawsuits, constitutional challenges, administrative law matters, Title IX, and open records litigation.Cory has experience representing clients in various litigation settings. Representative Matters:
Achieved reversal of an erroneous trial court order refusing to dismiss an ADA matter in favor of a major hospital employer.
Successfully petitioned appeals court for writ of mandamus to protect against the disclosure of highly sensitive psychological treatment records of a client's employee.
Prevailed in temporary injunction action on behalf of election officials against constitutional challenges to the filing-fee requirement for candidates for elected office.
Successfully achieved dismissal in a rule challenge meant to protect the safety of Texas consumers brought by a licensed professional against the licensing board.
Prevailed on a motion to dismiss a potential multi-million-dollar suit against a public university brought by a dismissed medical student under Title IX.
Obtained summary judgment in favor of employer on a reverse discrimination suit brought by a terminated sexual harasser.
